Bold claim: Evangelion fans have a new way to step inside the Neon Genesis world, and the door is opening now. Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections is inviting the public to participate in in-person focus group tests across the US and Japan later this month, with applications kicking off today.
Originally announced in February (before the September name reveal), Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections is an official VR game based on Neon Genesis Evangelion. The title unveils a fresh narrative spanning episodes 1–11 of the original TV series. Pixelity Inc. has confirmed that public Focus Group Test applications are now open ahead of its 2026 launch.
In Japan, the focus group runs December 19–21 and will take place in Tokyo. In the United States, there is a single-day session on December 19 in California. Applications can be submitted via the game’s X account.
This project supports VR and mixed reality gameplay and serves as the first entry in a planned trilogy intended to cover all 26 episodes of the TV series. Rather than featuring Shinji Ikari as the protagonist, Cross Reflections centers on an original character who dreams of piloting EVA units, forging relationships with new companions, and weaving connections to pivotal moments from the anime.
A release is planned for next year on platforms that have not yet been announced, with a public demo slated for the first half of 2026.
Evangelion: Δ Cross Reflections marks a new story within the timeline of the original anime, expanding the universe while remaining firmly rooted in established events.
